"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet."
- John 13:14
On the night before His crucifixion Jesus took on the role of the lowest servant and washed His disciples' feet. Dusty & worn feet were cleaned by the hands of the Son of God.
In that moment, Jesus wasn't just giving His disciples clean feet He was showing them the posture of true greatness: humility and service.
This Act reminds us that following Jesus isn't about status or recognition. It's about lowering ourselves in love and serving with a willing heart.
If the King of Kings stooped to wash feet, no act of love or service is too low for us.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me that true greatness is found in humility. Help me to serve others with the same love You demonstrated when You washed Your disciples' feet. Make me more like You each day willing to stoop low so that others can see Your heart through me.
In Jesus name, Amen.
